Revision Letter to Self

Q For this last essay, we will be writing ourselves a letter about what we will revise in our Essay 3. We've learned many ways to revise this semester like adding or deleting claims, adding or moving evidence, further discussing what quotes mean and connecting the quotes more cohesively to our thesis. Read through all of the pages in this module for new ways to revise: Removing the Use of "You," Paragraph Structure and Organizing Ideas in Drafts. You may also need to rework problems in your Works Cited page and/or make changes to your in text citations. ESSAY EVALUATION QUESTIONS FOR ESSAY 3 1. Does the thesis clearly argue one side of the education related issue? Does the thesis appear in the introduction of the essay? Does the body of the essay stay focused on the thesis throughout the paper? 2. Does the student quote or paraphrase from at least 5 sources? Does the student introduce the author AND article title AND briefly summarize the essay for the audience before quoting? Are there any problem back to back quotes? Does the student use correct parenthetical citations after every quote and/or paragraph? Are there any paragraphs that begin and/or end with quotes? 3. Are there places in the essay that are unclear or confusing? Are all major terms in the essay defined for the reader? Is there a variety of claims made in the paper (summary, definition, cause and effect, comparison and contrast, etc)? Is there enough evidence for each of the essay's claims? Is there at least one example of ethos, pathos and logos in the body of the essay? 4. Is the essay organized effectively?
